Parenting the Big Kids was founded by Laura Cleary, LMSW, a

Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with over 20 years experience

working with youth and families in community settings.

  • Current Director of Weston Youth Services in Weston CT

  • 5 years experience as a program presenter/trainer for Sandy

       Hook Promise, presenting violence prevention programs to students and              staff in schools.

​​

  • 10 + years as a parent educator and parent coach, working with parents in groups and individually, with a special focus on support and education to parents of tweens, teens and young adults.

​​

  • Trained in Yale Child Center SPACE program (Supporting Parents of Anxious Children's Emotions)

​

  • Youth Mental Health First Aid Certified trainer 2013-2107

​

  • Signs of Suicide certified trainer: 2017-present

​

  • Positive Discipline Certified Facilitator 2009
